Alrighty … Mitt has won New Hampshire, the first non-incumbent Republican to win both the Iowa caucuses and the New Hampshire primary. You would think there was this great groundswell of support around the Republican white knight being sent forth to slay the evil socialist/Kenyan Obama dragon. But listening to to the conservative media talk-a-razzi there is nothing but resignation in their voices. The Republicans aren’t picking a standard bearer, but despairingly settling on the candidate they hope will alienate the fewest independent voters. Make no mistake, if elected he will be a disaster as a president, at least for us mere mortals. The wealthy and corporations will do marvelously at the expense of our social safety net, clean water, clean air and general well being. He is a soulless fuck born born of privileged and entitlement … a believer of fiscal Darwinism … he would have fit in seamlessly during the gilded age.
Gingrich has hit Mitt for “Vulture Capitalism” and earlier a diary in the Daily Kos derided Mitt for “Locust Capitalism”
So that’s what Mitt Romney built for himself. A corporate safe-cracking engine. Buy a company, put yourself on the board, vote to max out its credit line and award yourself the cash. Then when they’re all out of money, you say, “Oh well, company’s broke,” fire everyone and shut the doors. That’s called a “bust-out,” if you’re a fan of Goodfellas or The Sopranos. But in real life (and in court, if necessary), it’s just called “bad business judgment,” provided you went through the niceties of making your financial control of the company a matter of public record first. People who control and plunder companies through secret, off-the-books loans are “legitimate businessmen” (in the old movie gangster parlance). People who control and plunder companies through regular loans are legitimate businessmen. Even if the intent was always to bust it out. You just can’t say so in open court.
Is this really the kind of person that we want for a president, the steward or our country, a modern day milquetoast Gordon Gecko? This isn’t good business, nothing is created nor managed, it is simply economic schadenfreude. This is what people like the OWS folks are railing against. They aren’t jealous of success or wealth, they despise the profiting on the misery of others.
And How dare you, Mitt, pretend you are one of us`… how you know how it feels to worry about a pink slip … how you know what it is like to be unemployed. Are you fucking serious?!? You have never wanted for anything in your life. You don’t even have the courage to simply acknowledge your privilege, but try to act like you’re just another working slob. Why? Because deep down inside, in dark little corners of your pitiful soul, you are ashamed.
Another little anecdote that I think is very telling of Mitt’s basic humaity,
Romney strapped a dog carrier — with the family dog Seamus, an Irish Setter, in it — to the roof of the family station wagon for a twelve hour drive from Boston to Ontario, which the family apparently completed, despite Seamus’s rather visceral protest.
Strapping your dog to the top of a car for a 12 hour drive?!? You fuck.
Republicans, even YOU can do better than this turd blossom.
