Just thought I’d remind over half the US population where they stand with our friends.

Who knew that those good old boys would grow up to be such masters of the English language?! And it’s so amazingly hundredth-monkeyish the way they’ve ALL gotten the hang of it… How ever will the Progressives compete against such a clever machine?! :=D

      Hey Minstrel… what’s up.
Brainiacs they’re not, that’s for sure.
I guess they’ve got the old “God’s on our side” thing going for ’em. At least till the new Pope came along. Now they’re fighting a liberal God too!! Or a liberal God’s rep.
Poor bastards. It’s just not fair.

I always loved that “God’s on our side” thing… The enormity of the arrogance, the self-righteousness, the self-delusion… very impressive. You really don’t hear Americans say that too much anymore because it would make them sound excessively similar to the radicalized Islamist Jihadists of today, and they certainly don’t want THAT kind of comparison!

But seriously, that’s the kind of statement that can only work coming from someone on the American Religious Right, don’t you think? The history of every other country on the planet has convinced everybody else that God’s not around when you’re getting your ass kicked (over and over in many cases). The only exceptions there would be Switzerland whose ideal of self preservation tells them to mind their own P’s & Q’s, no matter what.

A Buddhist or Hindu would never utter those words without first seeking clarification and asking, “Which god?”. The Jews may try to convince themselves that they are the Chosen Ones but deep down they know it would be a load of horse shit for them to declare that anybody’s on their side.

A wiccan would instinctively ask, “Side? Side of what?”. And any true follower of Christ would adamantly insist that God doesn’t take sides. Except maybe the Amish, who never had a black face amongst them anytime anywhere, and are convinced they’re doing everything right.

But, yeah, a liberal Pope now. Poor bastards. 😉
