Does anyone know what Romney actually did with the supplies he had “donated”? I missed the follow up if there was one.

I’d have to look it up myself to be sure of exactly where they went.
But the Red Cross specifically asked that cash donations right at this time would be better than actual supplies. Because of the obvious, (or what should be obvious), logistical nightmare of getting into and out of NYC at this moment. Gas supplies are low, available short term storage for that amount of stuff,… everything and anything you can think of.
But Romney had to get his show in. Bastard could have written a check for a million, but instead decided to ignore the Red Cross request and do it his way anyway.
      That’s what I’d call entitlement.

I know the Red Cross wanted money which is why I gave during the brief telethon last night. (I loved the guys doing an underrehearsed Under the Boardwalk with Jimmy Fallon!). Thanks for checking this out.

Well,… it’s just common sense. It’s NYC, for Christ’s sake. A relative logistical nightmare to move things when everything is “running smoothly”.
I can’t imagine the problems relief agencies will have moving things to the places where they’re needed most at this point in time.
Romney and his campaign people keep proving how out of touch they are with the real world.

I found this statement from the Red Cross

“The American Red Cross appreciates the support from the Romney campaign and is working with the campaign to process this donation of supplies,” the statement read. “We are grateful that both the Obama and Romney campaigns have also encouraged the public to send financial donations to the Red Cross. We encourage individuals who want to help to consider making a financial donation or making an appointment to give blood.”

So they diverted staff to sort the stuff I guess.
